The past helps shape the future. As we look
back over the years we see all the pioneers for us to have
the freedom and rights that we enjoy now.
For Black History
Month it is important to not only celebrate all the great
achievements of African Americans but also
to make declarations to live to honor them plus keep
the dreams going to overcome even more barriers.
Some things we can do as writers are to:

of the most amazing things about our ancestors is that

thoughts, give thanks and
declare
something great to give back to the community.
Carla
Thorpe is the author of commentary works, poems and
