Creating a Power Team

As the economy has shifted many people have decided to make their passions work for them. This is true for people that enjoy writing. The opportunities to get paid for the passion of writing is a even more attainable goal. In order to really see the fruit of the labor it is also good to create a team to help out. It is important to be focused on writing and not spread thin trying to manage the craft.

So many careers call for different experts to help make the final products over expectations. Never think that since your career is not a typical primary industry contribution that you do not deserve a strong team.

Here are some experts to have on your team:

Mentor - This can be someone that has published a book, poetry or columns in publications. it can also be a editor that is able to give feedback about a portfolio of writings. They are used to help you develop your craft, challenge your skills and provide tools to help you excel.

Editor - Someone that is able to critique works before they are submitted, offer training to take your writing to another level and share opportunities to get more exposure for works.

Lawyer - Once your writing is done you want to make sure you are fully protected. Having a lawyer or paralegal available for questions, paperwork and more is always a plus.

Publicist - It’s awesome to have someone setup book signings, interviews, speaking engagements, workshops and other public events that help grow your fan base and share your craft with the world.

Stylist - Dressing for success is a must for every career. A stylist really offers good suggestions on how to present yourself to the world. Most writers are use to working in their creative space and then submitting a final product. With having more public engagements it is always encouraged to have a polished look. A stylist able to make sure you inspire others.

These are just a few of the types of people to add to whatever team you currently possess. With these people your writing career will not only support you financially but potentially help someone else that aspires to be a successful writer.
