As spring approaches we are inspired to come out of our
shells and enjoy the warmth of bloom. This time makes us
want to create, design, and stretch our wings to new lengths.
We recognize that in this moment of writing that blog,
article, newsletter, e-book or book is possible. It is
already possessed but must be released for the world to
enjoy it.
What is holding us?
Why
haven’t we completed that masterpiece? Why
don’t we have a work that says written by…?
Let’s
call it fear and/or lack of motivation. It is creating
a hold that is making it difficult to obtain
the next big goal. That is just not acceptable. So many
people aspire for talents to put their thoughts and emotions
into words. We possess that gift and should not be holding
it to ourselves.
Where do we begin?
Evaluate the goals. The best start is to see where we
are and where we want to be. This gives us an understanding
of the next task that has to be worked on.
Here are just some general ideas:
We want to start sharing our thoughts on business owners
with an emphasis of how resourceful they are. The short
term goal could be to design a blog where we highlight
those characteristics. Also invite business owners to share
their story through interviews.
It is important that we drive traffic to our websites
and capture our audience. A creative way to promote our
expertise and get people involved is an e-book. This tool
lets us display some key elements that we have discovered
in research that can help improve knowledge of potential
clients.
Our collective of writers want to start finding out what
it would be like to work with a publication. The initial
concept could be a newsletter with themes, positions and
deadlines. This creates an indication of the load along
with the dedication of the writers.
Building up a portfolio of work that has been published
can a time consuming task. It can also take some research
to find the instruments that meet, and fit the genre of
writing we do. In this instance selecting the publications
and then writing articles in different areas show our diversity,
strength and dedication to our craft. In the end of three
months we could have a varied portfolio.
So
now that we have established how our goals can transfer
into our newest creation it is no reason why we shouldn’t
all start developing our ideas. Some of the work will be
a one person show but other tactics could be a team effort.
It is all in the goal.
So by the next issue we will have success stories of
the work that was created with pictures, testimonies and
more.
It
is our time. Now let’s Do It!
